Product feature
  1. A word from the product manager
This boot is designed to provide a great balance of comfort and ease of use. These boots boast a sole with 3 different types of studs to provide great grip. For this Winter 15/16, we have modified the laces/quick tightening element to clamp the boots on better. These snowboard boors meet the essential requirements of snowboarders: warmth, comfort, foot support and rigidity for board coordination.
  2. FAST LOCK tightening system
The easy fastening of the Boogey comes from a comment made by a snowboard instructor: "we need to stop using traditional laces, they're too difficult. All too often, I have to start a lesson by tightening my clients' laces." This tightening system lets you tighten your boots in 2 actions: 1. pull the laces 2. push down the locking piece. It's done!
  3. Basic
Comfort is very important in snowboarding. To limit the compression points, we have: _ worked on the liner upper to avoid rubbing on bumps, _ added a second layer of foam between the instep and tibia, so that the laces don't cut off your circulation, _ chosen soft foam. But comfort also comes from getting the boot on/off: we have always given our boots a wide opening to make them easy to get on/off.
  4. Boot flex / stiffness
The introduction of the soft flex was a deliberate decision. It provides comfort during use, reduces physical fatigue and allows you to fully enjoy your day in the snow. It also gives you a huge advantage when you're starting, helping you find the right position on your board, i.e. ankles bent, so that your legs aren't stiff. You have to react quickly when you're snowboarding so it's important to bend the knees. Starting with a boot that's too stiff will hinder your progress.
  5. Heel support: LEVEL 1 liner
Heel support is an essential part of snowboarding. For good board management, the foot must be well supported by the liner, AND the liner must be well supported in the boot. For the Boogey 300, the LEVEL 1 liner uses 4 different technologies: _ COMFORT FOAM ankle foam _ 3-POINT liner fastening _ HOOK & LOOP LINK between boot and liner _DOUBLE FOAM = Double layer of foam at the tongue on the instep (support and comfort).
  6. Ankle foam: COMFORT FOAM technology
The ankle foam padding fills the hollow below and behind the ankle in order to secure the heel. LEVEL 1 boots have soft foam that's 10 mm thick made from a single, softer material. The goal is to provide support for the heel and food to match the boot level. The faster you go, the more energy comes into play, the more support your foot needs. COMFORT FOAM achieves this goal, as well as providing top-level comfort for all.
  7. Liner fastening: 3-POINT fastening technology
3-point fastening (instead of 4-point) offers 2 big advantages: _ SUPPORT: it holds the ankle in position very well because there is less friction with the laces and a significant proportion of the energy deployed is transmitted to the 3rd and final fastening point = ankle for maximum support. _ WARMTH: not having a 4th attachment point at the instep lets the blood flow to the toes. And it's blood circulation that keeps your toes warm.
  8. Link between liner and boot: HOOK & LOOP LINK concept
We've added rip-tabs between the liner and boot, at the rear. The goal is to minimise any slippage of the liner inside the boot, so it's easier to steer the board.
  9. Base: grip, foothold, cushioning and thermal insulation
The 3-GRIPS sole provides 3 different types of grip 1. front and rear zones for uphill/downhill snowboarding 2. lateral zones for grip when banking 3. central zone for grip on slippery terrain: frozen board or ground Made of rubber with 3.5 mm studs. It also has an inner (not visible) 5 mm EVA foam midsole (80% air) for excellent thermal insulation, as well as cushioning.
  10. Thermal insulation
We have several ways to keep your feet warm: _ The sole features an insulating layer, 5 mm thick EVA (80% air) which insulates from the cold ground_ the sockliner is another 5 mm layer of EVA + a polyester material _ Tightening the boot with 3 tightening elements (rather than 4) ensures a blood supply for your toes. And it's the blood flow that keeps your toes warm _ we've added quilting around the toes
  11. Thermal insulation
We have several ways to keep your feet warm: _ the sole has a proper 5 mm thick EVA insulating layer (80% air) which blocks the cold coming up from the ground _ the sockliner is another 5 mm EVA layer with a polyester material _ the 3-point liner tightening adjustment (not 4-points) lets the blood flow to the toes. And it's the blood circulation that keeps your toes warm _ we've added quilting around the toes
